THSOA Southeast Board Nominations: Now Open! 

THSOA Southeast Chapter is looking for volunteers for multiple positions on their board!

Chairmen (2 YearTerm):

The Chairmen position actively prepares to carry out the duties of the chapter, including organization and working closely with other chapter representatives, nationwide. Fostering good communication, planning, and leadership for the chapter overall.

Secretary (2 Year Term):

The Secretary shall ensure that all correspondence is dealt with and copies are maintained in an appropriate filing system at the principal office. The Secretary shall be responsible for all minutes of General Meetings. It will be the duty of the Secretary to ensure that all members are notified of forthcoming meetings in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaws.

Treasurer (2 Year Term):

The Treasurer shall ensure that all monies paid to the Society are received and deposited in the name of the Society in the chapter bank account. The Treasurer shall ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded and maintained as proper books of account. The Treasurer shall provide annual Financial Statements, including Balance Sheet and Statement of Revenues and Expenses.

Technical Chairman (2 Year Term):

The Technical Chairmen shall arrange for, review, and coordinate speakers and technical presentations for Chapter meetings. Chairing the Technical subcommittee and assisting other Committee members as needed.

Student Liaison(s) Education Board and Social Events and Fundraising  (1 Year Term):

The role of the student liaison is to support educational outreach, foster growth, and opportunities for all universities and educational institutions within the geographic bounds of the southeast chapter. Roles may include, but are not limited to annual scholarship, networking and educational outreach planning, technical talks, etc. 

The Hydrographic Society of America-Southeast Chapter is a non-profit organization which seeks to educate its members and the general public about hydrographic surveying. The officers are all volunteers and receive no compensation for their time and efforts. With leadership and drive from the top, this chapter can continue to provide scholarships to students in our region and also to provide informative presentations and social events. We need dedicated individuals to help give some time back to their profession!

 

We are hoping that others with energy and some time will step forward to help the chapter to continue moving forward!
