THSOA World Hydrography Day 2026 - Photo Contest
Theme: Camaraderie in Hydrography

Description: Join us in commemorating World Hydrography Day, June 21, 2026, with our captivating photo contest's theme of camaraderie! This contest aims to highlight the significance of collaboration, culture, and community in hydrography.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Originality: Only original photographs will be accepted. Please ensure that the submitted photo is your own work and has not been previously published or submitted to any other contest.
2. Relevance: Your photo should align with the theme of the contest, showcasing the camaraderie within the hydrographic community.
3. Resolution: High-resolution images are preferred to ensure clarity and quality.
4. Format: Submit your photo in JPEG or PNG format.
5. Number of Entries: Each participant can submit a maximum of three photos.
6. Title and Caption: Along with each photo, provide a title and a brief caption (maximum 50 words) explaining the significance or story behind the image. 
7. Permissions: Provide written confirmation of permission from everyone in the photo(s) . 

Submission Process:

• Email your entries to [email protected] with the subject line "World Hydrography Day Photo Contest Entry."
• Include your name and contact information, the titles, and captions in the body of the email.
• Attach the photo files to the email (please ensure your First and Last name are in the file names).
• Include confirmation of permission from everyone in the photo(s). 

Deadline: All entries must be submitted by June 18, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

1. Creativity: Uniqueness of the perspective and composition.
2. Visual Impact: Aesthetic appeal and emotional resonance of the photograph.
3. Relevance: How well the photo captures the essence of water bodies and their significance.
4. Technical Quality: Clarity, sharpness, and overall technical excellence of the image.

Winner will receive a THSOA Hoodie!

Winners Announcement: The winner will be announced on June 21, 2026 via our website and social media channels. Winner will also be notified via email. The winning photo will also be highlighted during our upcoming All Hands Meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2025 @ 4pm EDT.

By submitting your entry, you agree to grant us the rights to use your photograph for promotional purposes related to the contest and World Hydrography Day.
