    The Hydrographic Society of America
    ~ West Coast Chapter ~

    As always, all THSOA members and interested Hydrographers, Oceanographers & Surveyors are welcome.  If you need to renew or would like to gain membership then please go online at http://www.thsoa.org/.Join us on Thursday evening 26th May beginning at 4:30pm. THSOA-WCC invites you to an informal gathering of Hydrographers and those operating in the hydrospatial domain.  We will gather at the clubhouse of the Tyee Yacht Club located on Lewis & Clark’s waterway to the Pacific, the Colombia River  Limited entry, please register at THSOA.ORG.  Gate access code and directions will be provided to registered participants.

    We have a diverse and interesting line up of presentations.  It is informal and social in nature.  Event space, libations, snacks and a dinner are courtesy of our sponsors – all you need is an updated membership ($35).  Students with ID card enter free.  Proof of vaccinations is required (yacht club rules).  Register early – maximum of 150 guests.

    Speaker: Matthew Kowalczyk, Eng., CEO, Ocean Floor Geophysics (OFG)

    Topic: Non-contact integrated Cathodic Protection (iCP) system: the missing link in efficient AUV pipeline inspection

    Additional Info:  Since joining OFG in 2014 Matthew has maintained the company’s leading position in seafloor mineral exploration, while growing the site survey and infrastructure inspection services in the oil & gas and renewables markets, primarily through the operation of autonomous underwater vehicles and the development of specialized sensors and technologies. 

    Matthew is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of British Columbia School of Engineering. His professional career before OFG includes leading a design team for computer vision systems for manufacturing, then successfully founding a company that developed sensor-based ore sorting technology for the mining industry, which he sold to the Norwegian TOMRA group. In his professional life at OFG, Matthew is surrounded by a team of incredibly smart, creative, dedicated and kind people that have supported the growth of OFG and its reputation with its clients.

    The conference registration fee for Full Members & Non-Members include admission to technical sessions, workshops, exhibit hall, meals and social receptions:

    A ‘Member’ is an Individual Member with The Hydrographic Society of America, The Canadian Hydrographic Association, or the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS). All New ‘Members’ must be in good standing as of May 1, 2022.

    • The registration price is $490 for Full Members and $635 for Full Non-Members.
    • One day Conference registration for Members is $230 and $270 for Non-Members.
    • Students of ‘Member’ organizations may register for $60 (Proof of student ID required).

    There will be no exhibitor guest passes for this conference. All persons must register as one of the above categories to visit the exhibits.
